  1. Most of the CBS affiliates in the Central time zone carry LMAD at 2pm (after The Talk). It'll be sad to lose that two hour game show block in Chicago. I guess was they move Drew to the morning so it wouldn't compete with Clarkson on Channel 5. And even with move, it ain't going to make any difference (the ratings are low anyway), as many watch the WGN Morning News & Live with Kelly & Ryan on that slot. A few years ago, Orlando affiliate WKMG moved LMAD from 10am to 3pm to lead in with their (at the time) new 4pm newscast. Could LMAD be a strong show at 2pm on Channel 2? We'll just see.

  3. The song that opened up the 10p news on KTLA at the time is "Now That You've Gone" by Chicago (from the album Chicago V; this song, Saturday in the Park, and Dialogue, are three of the best songs on the album, as well as some of Chicago's best songs overall!) Also, aside from his TV work in L.A., Clete Roberts was probably best known nationally for his appearances on M*A*S*H, where he interviewed the members of the 4077th (The Interview and Our Finest Hour are the episodes in question)

  4. Forgive me if this was already posted. From The Media Stash YouTube Channel by Roma Torre A bunch of TV nostalgia, mostly from Pittsburgh. I don't think Roma posted these on her old channel that got killed. The Media Stash - YouTube Two of my favorites below that helped me learn more about the Pittsburgh market. 50 years of Pittsburgh TV and Radio with great clips with a long promo from WPXI's 1981 call letter and image change. 1998 video documentary about the Ethical Dilemma of TV News by Patti Burns

  6. During the overnight hours, in lieu of CBS, ABC and NBC affiliates (and even independent stations) signing off for the night, we continue our broadcast day with CNN Headline News in progress. That's one of the many features offered in that CNN2 service.

  7. Wild prediction based on no background knowledge of anyone's intentions... After his exit from NewsNation last week, Rob Nelson joins the station as a weekday anchor by the end of the year. Jen hired him for primetime, and he uprooted his life to come here only a year ago. I can't think of any other high-profile on-air exits, but why not keep them in the mix, too? The last time a WGN boss went to CBS2, ND Carol Fowler brought along Roseanne Tellez, Randy Salerno, Joanie Lum, and others. Doubt anyone at WGN-TV would make that mistake, again, if they're comfortable at Bradley Place.

  8. Some people overreact too much on these things. It's the middle of August. It makes sense that a senior anchor takes some time off. Not everybody is watching the news in the summer (COVID or no COVID) so stations will grant them break. People want to go outside. David will be back full time in the fall, I guarantee it...

  9. I'm actually a huge fan of that show. It's very refreshing compared to a most of the (advertorial) non-news stuff local stations tend to put out these days, and very underrated. For as much slack as I give Morris, I'm actually glad they took a chance on Lee and let him and Hayley make a comeback because a lot of other groups wouldn't have. I personally feel like he made an honest mistake. But at the same time, WTVQ is a better fit for the two. WLEX used to be a more lighthearted station under Cordillera - serious when they needed to be but they didn't take themselves too seriously either. The culture of LEX 18 is definitely changing under Scripps into a much more hard news-focused station and I just think it all happened for a reason. And yes, all but one of the Morris stations are currently or will carry it by the fall season. For unknown reasons, WDEF is the lone holdout. Guess they feel an hour and a half of Judge Judy from 4-5:30pm is a better use of time (I'm stunned they finally added a 5:30pm show though. In 2021). Gray's WBKO-DT2 in Bowling Green carries it as well.

  10. Same place that hired Lee Cruse from WLEX after his "Royal Baby" flap.... https://www.courier-journal.com/story/news/2019/05/23/wlex-18-lexington-kentucky-tv-host-lee-cruse-cuts-ties-british-royal-baby-comments/1203626001/ WTVQ is becoming the next "asylum" station, sort of like WVIR was several years back. Especially when they hired major market bounced talent like David Rogers. Speaking of Lee Cruse, he hosts a daily talk show on WTVQ with former his former co-host Hayley Harmon. called "The Lee & Hayley Show". Basically a re-do of their "Live with Lee & Hayley" from their WLEX days. That's another thread in itself I've been meaning to start one of these days. Many of the Morris stations carry it as well.
