  1. you’ll be a great manager one day. That’s not how “full-time”/part-time status works with television news talent. There is no counting of hours as there is with regular 9-5 jobs. Somebody could work 10 hours a week and anchor an hour show weekly and get paid a handsome salary.

  2. KVVU wants less V and more U: it wants channel 24 instead of 9.

  3. I noticed WLS now streams their newscasts at 60fps. Did the ABC O&Os upgrade their livestreams?

  4. Not really a relevant comparison. As @mightynine mentioned, many years have passed since that simulcast was aired. In that time, the cable ratings landscape has radically diminished. It is also not a great comparison from a revenue standpoint as you can't generate national ad buys in the national simulcast of a local newscast. So even if NewsNation's ratings are not as good (and they probably aren't), the revenue is much improved.

  5. Do you think it is possible that Sam Champion is human just like us and might have a variety of reasons why he could not or did not want to be available to work on his scheduled day off? We have had storms classified as tropical storms hit the area before — twice last summer — and storms hit that have done far worse. There has been much talk of how early in the season Elsa is for a hurricane/tropical storm, yet, just last year we had a tropical storm affect NYC on July 10. While it was a news event that warranted additional coverage and some special reports, there was nothing unique or extraordinary about it that warranted a mandatory all hands on deck.

  6. In loving memory of Jilda Unruh, from Miami, and, hard to believe but in Tulsa's KOTV too.

  7. Wow! I can't believe I am agreeing with Comcast. What I hope happens, if Comcast wins, companies such as Nexstar, Sinclair, and Scripps have to let go of their secondary "partners". (Mission, Cunningham, and Inyo)

  8. This has been a total sham. There is no mention that the station is owned by "Mission" broadcasting anywhere on their broadcasts or website - except in the about us section. Everything is Nexstar. The President/GM is a Nexstar employee. If it wasn't to stay under the caps, Mission Broadcasting would not even exist.
