  1. Because it's an obvious downgrade from the set's original set. This new one worked just fine for pandemic shows, allowing for more standup shots and distance, but if distancing is not needed, then the previous, seated position is superior.

  2. why do I have this feeling that this was her plan all along 1. go public with the info ....CHECK 2. grab enough publicity to make her bosses "suspend her".....CHECK 3. she records her now former boss saying she was suspended...CHECK 4. it becomes official [shes's out] and now all thats left is to dump the evidence with Project Veritas.....CHECK and MATE did I miss anything or am I close?? so now lets see.. In 2020, in Anchorage, Alaska a news anchor went nuts ,got fired when she had a fight with her fiancee who happens to be the ND over so called evidence about the mayor that she was promoting for the newscast, then it was found out she had an textual affair with the mayor, who admitted it in a press conference where he also announced his resignation, oh we forgot to note she also left some disturbing messages on his answering machine , (By the way, the owners of the station 86'd their newscast and have it outsourced from Traverse City, Mich. Based news net ) And now in 2021..Houston,Texas where a FOX26 reporter threw her bosses under the bus while doing a live report about the hot weather thus assuredly napalming her career in the process.. And now, we welcome to the "hall of napalming your TV career" weekend weather anchor for the still newsless CBS O&O in Detroit April Moss, who during her fathers day 11PM weather segment decided to announce that she was going to be on project veritas to blast CBS62 for discrimination...Oy!! This would make one hell of a movie ....

  3. And she’s gone. Bio removed from KRIV’s website plus there is a recording on Facebook of her on the phone with the HR director asking when she can come get her equipment (badge, company owned equipment etc)

  4. I think standing cheapens the look. They really need a new desk and rethink this whole standing thing especially for this being the #1 market. Other O&O's have much better desks.

  6. Why do people continue to watch this guy? He's such a sleaze, especially after he ripped off my channel (and continues to do so). Anyways, here's a version without the first three seconds cut off, and no Bandicam watermarks either to boot.

  7. From the Daily Beast: So yeah, she know exactly what she was doing. I guess she wanted a head start on her Newsmax/OAN audition, unless she considers them to be corporate media.

  8. Similar to my issues with NN, I don’t understand the point in having a desk on set to stand the entire broadcast? Go all-in and make your show a standing active program rather than having a desk that serves zero purpose.

  9. During their 6PM newscast, WPTV anchors announced the construction of their new set. I watched part of the newscast and didn't notice they were in a temp set since it was the same set as the 4PM news.

  11. PLEASE let this be an alternate music option for the Scripps stations. I don't dislike the theme music they're using now but this is too good to only be for that news channel. It sounds like an extremely reworked and improved Guardian.

  13. KDKA Noon Feb 1985, with the 1984 - 85 (or 86) version of the 'Eye-wit-ness-news' melody package and no Fort Pitt tunnel open. Uses a trolley instead, maybe just for the Noon. We know the prior theme from before the '84 wall of monitor set was a Klein & work, so maybe this and the mid / late 80s package with the sax closing was as well. KDKA Feb 1985 Pittsburgh Number One special KDKA May 1991 Here's a strange one... A beta version of the blue set with the 80s logo in the header and ice blocks on the side. KPIX would debut its blue set in early 92 with similar ice blocks but no header. Theme is an update of the Eyewitness News melody that might have only aired for months (there's a Dec 1990 clip on YT using the mid/late 80s version). Lower thirds use the Futura font KPIX tried out from 1990 to early 92 - I'm guessing the Futura took a cue from the CBS Evening News, the way Serifa and the blue line on KDKA was borrowed from the network. Both KD and KPIX wouldswitch to the red line with italic Univers Condensed by early 92 along with with copycats of the 3D metallic Welch ABC O&O look for their opens Here's that Dec 1990 clip with graphics, set music basically unchanged from the mid/late 80s. At the very end of the video, it switches to another recording where you get a glimpse of yet another interim set or flashcam newsroom backdrop - looks like a grey world map with the 1984 - 1991 logo. Not sure how long that lasted but looks like 1990-1991 was a revolving door of creative elements.

  14. All of that is possible. I suppose it’s even possible that Lee could be leaving the station although I think that’s very unlikely.

  15. I was just thinking the same! Scott Jones would be all over this mess. Why is she still on the fox26 site? Surely she should have been fired by days end?

  16. This is no Charlo Greene/KTVA "(Bleep) it, I quit" situation...at least there she was in control of her story (and was successful). This dimbulb was quickly forgotten by most of the audience who cared more about ERCOT than whatever comes out from some fringe site tomorrow. Also, on the one week in seven years FTVLive takes time off.

  18. Looks like WXIA is trying to match its motion graphics with the graphics/branding package done by local firm MATCHSTIC (CLICK HERE). That way, 11Alive could break away from the conformity of the Tegna T18 animation package. BRILLIANT!!!!

  19. It’s kind of odd that his former station, ABC 15, spent far more time on his death than his current station, ABC 33/40. (He had been gone from KNXV for about 4 years.) A well-produced, 6-minute package vs. a VO. Either way though it’s a very sad story.

  20. It really makes me real sad that local broadcasters taken their own lives whether they suffering from depression, stress, or thoughts of suicide. We lost many of our favorite local personalities due to suicide and I'm not going to name name's out of respect to the deceased. I said it before and I'm going to say again, If you know someone you love (Family and/or Friends) who's suffering from depression and have thoughts of suicide, please call National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255. They're here to help.

  21. It’s time for them to get back their actual desk or an entire studio remodel to take it a step further. WCBS has the best set in the market right now, I’d say WNYW is the only one that comes close.

  23. I don’t agree with you here.. Greg still has quite the following among viewers and even guests.. a lot of guests that used to appear on good day that no longer do now appear on Greg’s show.. you see a few people on Twitter that don’t agree or fire bsck or whatever on his page but that’s all SM.. if Greg were to come back (chances are low) i don’t see it hurting in any way

  24. I know this thread is about WXIAs graphics, but indulge me for a bit. 11Alive is a legacy brand, I get it...but come on, its 2021! The Alive branding went out in the late 80s! Off the top of my head, KOCO in OKC and WPTA in Fort Wayne used the Alive branding in the 80s. Is it time to ditch the 11Alive branding? I have family in Atlanta. Of course, they are deeply dedicated to WSB, but I never hear them refer to WXIA as "11Alive." Always channel 11 or NBC.
