  6. This is not accurate. She was brought in as a freelancer at KPNX after they parted ways with their art director long after the launch.

  7. Back in the days before "corporate packages" took over station groups, and the looks had local variants to them. Go back even further to see individual stations contracting with a design firm to do their look, no matter who owned them!

  8. There was an f-bomb on WMAQ’s 10p newscast Friday night. Reporter Chris Coffey was doing his live intro on a mask mandate story when a man ran behind him and yelled “F-ck Joe Biden.” Coffey was obviously startled but apologized and continued. After his signoff, anchor Allison Rosati said she was glad Coffey was OK and that she hoped the man would apologize to him for what he did. Crazy enough, they didn’t even bother to bleep the word — or cut the report entirely — during the overnight repeat. Lazy. 003388E3-540C-408F-91BB-E6F4B6282735.MOV

  9. Is this specifically "news"? Not really. Is it a clip from just this week? Technically. Is it funny and less than 2 minutes of your life you won't mind not getting back? Yes.

  12. KCOP went off the air for 15 MINUTES and then came back on? WOW! The Los Angeles station must've done the technical/transmitting side like today's computers. You know, REBOOT! Turn it off, wait a few minutes (in this case 15 Minutes), and then turn it back on again. But then again, KCOP wasn't the only station that did the computer reboot-style sign off/sign on. Look at CBS-owned WCBS New York. CBS 2 signed off at 5:00am, and then, they returned to the air at 6:00am. TWO OF THE SHORTEST SIGN OFFS/SIGN ONS EVER!!!! Usually, stations used to sign-off anytime between midnight and 2am, and then, come back to the air at like 6:00am!

  13. Not that I watch a great deal of Antenna, but this may be a positive move in that Antenna could bring back more pre-80’s programming that hasn’t been seen in a while. More shows, now spread across two channels. I don’t know what Nexstar’s national diginet contracts are, but here in Philly WPHL carries Antenna, CourtTV and Comet. Both court AND comet are also carried on other stations in the market, so I could see either easily dropped to launch this (no, not that This channel, this channel…)

  16. WYFF weekday morning anchor Geoff Hart announced that he has been diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease and will not be returning to the station (effectively announcing his retirement from broadcasting). Hart has been with the station since 1993, serving as sports director before transferring to the news side in 2011 as anchor of WYFF News 4 Today. He had been on medical leave from the station since December.

  17. A perfect metaphor for all of the Ernest Angley scandal in the past decade or so, yet Ernest Angley never even owned it! On a clear day, that tower can be seen for miles....even from the Ohio Turnpike crossing over the Cuyahoga Valley.
