  1. It's a hell of a day they chose for a "major maintenance project," because Miami weather was hellacious on Saturday. As for if CBSN Miami had anything to do with this, I'm thinking barely maybe. I have little faith in CBS getting their act together, so if we entertained the thought of them really needing to go down just to set up: why would such an extreme move be necessary? I don't think any of the other stations with CBSN had to go through that. I'll stand corrected if it happens otherwise. But they also haven't changed the weather graphics yet, one of the biggest indicators of som

  2. A nice update, but I would prefer the 3 sided rectangle triangle mic flag for the logo to perfectly fit well instead of a condensed FOX5 into a cubed square.

  3. I personally love these graphics for WTVY. Very immersive and also modern.

  4. I don’t know how anyone can look at this and think this is what a modern media operation in 2021 should look like.

  5. The Pax TV—i—ION metamorphosis is very interesting to look at in retrospect. You could argue that Pax TV was a diginet 25 years ahead of its time with a lineup heavy on reruns (albeit with a few new productions) and in which the affiliates all but carried the core schedule with no deviations whatsoever. Problem was, Pax TV was a money loser from the get-go, so much so that they turned to NBC for a capital investment that wound up with NBC suing Paxson a few years later for a redemption of their investment (and vice versa) with an NBCU board member succeeding Bud Paxson as chairman

  6. I don't see WABC making any real changes to their current setup any time soon other than a few updates along the way. The station along with all of Disney/ABC's New York operations are slated to move to a new facility at Hudson Square in the coming years, so they may be holding off on new set plans until then.

  7. Keep in mind that Dothan is market 170-something, so that alone plays a part on how much they can spend on an upgrade. I'm amazed at how far WDHN has come over the past several years, to the point it's finally added morning news and taking over the news for WDFX.

  8. If you were around back in 1995 or wasn't you get a glimpse of what UPN was like in those days. The guy goes into great detail and his facts and knowledge are very accurate and on point in details. Great video. Must watch!

  9. The Cordillera stations are not hubbed as well as Tallahassee and Waco. Norfolk has Richmond, KSTU, WSFL, WTVF, and KMTV. I think Indianapolis has the rest, including the Katz networks. Denver doesn't have a hub and MC is hubbed from Indianapolis. They were hubbed there when they were McGraw Hill. The Now and other news products come from Denver and Indianapolis distributes for that too.

  10. Two thoughts on this package. The first is that it looks an interpretation of the the former WALA graphics; at least open anyway. The second being, it looks like something you can buy on VideoHive.

  13. TNF had no place on broadcast networks. The games were never headliners and often blowouts and brought in minimal if any revenue for affiliates. There's a reason it's now been unceremoniously dumped by two networks.

  14. Yeah that was nice to see her on the program again. Yeah Shirleen is going to be huge. I honestly don't see her staying at WABC I can see her going bigger than that too. She's such a class act at what she does, kinda like how Sade is.

  15. I never knew UPN passed on Malcolm in the Middle AND American Idol!! Things might have really been different

  16. UPN was basically an over-the-air version of BET (with a few exceptions). Coincidentally, both of them were Viacom properties. I remember when my mother would watch The Parkers, Girlfriends, and America's Next Top Model while the latter was on UPN. It wasn't until recently when I learned that they showed Family Matters reruns.

  17. I watched this a few weeks ago. VERY VERY interesting. I never realized all of the pieces of UPN. I know, as a black community, we watched UPN all the time, and was kind of distraught when the network disappeared. I always thought UPN was consistently the 6th place network, but apparently, it traded spots with WB (and sometimes FOX). Make sure if you watch this, you block out like a good hour and some change to watch! Hopefully he will do the WB at some point.

  18. Hopefully the hold up is that there is pushback on these below-par graphics.
