  1. Not great. It has to compete with all three stations in the first half hour at noon, and with WSOC at 12:30. At 4 it might have an outside chance to pass WCNC but not WBTV.

  2. I shudder to think of the picture quality on that channel.

  3. CNN is shutting down its airport network because people don't pay attention to it. Many airports offer free Wi-Fi now so travelers are watching what they want on their devices. I imagine the days of an airport news network like that are over. People have other entertainment options that they didn't have before, and the idea of such is a network seems obsolete now.

  5. Basically, stations like WDLI exist in license-alone, since the spectrum was sold by TBN in the auction, and the station was physically merged onto WVPX's spectrum. Get rid of the extra license, and you can now legally have a duopoly with WEWS without endangering cap space. I'm pretty sure the Inyo deal was a stopgap in places like Cleveland where this situation existed, and the "triopoly" was in fact the shared spectrum of the former TBN station in license on the main ION station, plus the existing Scripps affiliate.

  6. Most of our vehicles are unmarked, though we can add magnets as necessary. We used the blank silver SUVs (as opposed to our usual red) during the summer protests and told reporters to leave the branded shirts and jackets at home.

  7. Diane Deaton from WAFB is retiring after 37 years as meteorologist at the Baton Rouge station. Her current role is morning meteorologist and her last day is December 18. Steve Caparotta will fill her spot after her departure. Deaton, among many others, deserves a nice, long break from the hurricane season from hell, whose scale none of us could have truly anticipated. So for all of the work and sleepless nights Gulf & East coast meteorologists had to deal with this past summer and fall, I raise a huge glass to them.
