  6. There is a door from the fourth floor gallery hallway to the set balcony, and from there you can walk down the spiral to the floor. However, the balcony itself is small, and not much headroom under the grid.

  7. It's understandable that Matt wouldn't be invited to the 70th Anniversary celebration should it occur, but he was on the show for 23 years it makes no sense to act like he never existed. They shouldn't cut him out of flashbacks as he was involved in momentous coverage like 9/11, Bin Laden's death, and the 2000 election. The same goes for Ann Curry and Deborah Norville. Perhaps they could briefly acknowledge him to get it out of the way so his lack of a presence there doesn't overshadow everything. I like the election set up. I wish they'd include more of a tangible physical set, ra

  8. I agree MNF should be back on ABC. Regardless of if that happens or not, they need a new broadcasting crew. I caught last week’s game and was bored to tears. The lack of energy and excitement is apparent when compared to Fox, NBC, etc.. TNF should never be split between 2 (broadcasting) networks. Fox has done a good job and will likely fight to keep it.

  9. Have NBC/ABC split Thursday Night Football. Keep the Sunday packages on FOX and CBS. The NFL wants to keep cable from the NFL.

  10. Interesting. Agreed. SNF is still doing gangbusters for NBC. Disney should move MNF back to ABC (or simply do a simulcast with ESPN). Or, in a from-left-field situation, if ABC/ESPN gets the SNF package, NBC gets MNF just because.

  14. Despite broadcasting from headquarters this Tuesday night, ABC News has also gussied up the 2nd floor of Times Square for election coverage. I'd imagine GMA will originate from this space on Tuesday and Wednesday, and possibly much of their digital content.

  16. I recall seeing something similar when NBC was showing some b roll footage during their evening newscast with the “News Nation” credit on it. I believe this is another way Nexstar is trying to promote News Nation, via footage credits. Clever indeed.

  24. It's still a better fate that I thought would happen before November 2019; I'd figured it'd be shut down once Court TV took over the subchannel space on the former Tribune stations. Imagine my surprise when not only did This TV not go belly up, it actually managed to find space on some other channels in a few of those markets.

  26. tsk tsk, some of you are SO quick to jump to your own conclusions and decisions about this thing. I've said it before and I'll say it again, this is a long game. They didn't pour X amount of dollars into NewsNation just to sell it off with the rest of WGNA. NewsNation is the first step in a much larger idea to (more than likely) create another CNN or FOX News. NewsNation as a show may not live forever, but you don't pour that kind of money into an operation if you aren't playing the long game (5-10 years). There are logical next steps they can take to gain viewership and exponentia

  27. I suspect that's a typo in the PR quote and it's meant for fall 2021. But if you count the year they did it as a web-only show, it will still have been a two-year pilot project by the time it launches nationally.

  30. They also act like Ann Curry and Deborah Norville no longer exist. I doubt that Matt will be involved with any event pertaining to the Torah show. I guess Meredith doesn’t care for what he was accused of doing. I think it would be quite awkward and even wrong to expect people who testified against him to be in the same room as him for a celebration. Apparently it was also a dislike on the part of NBC and the Today Show that he was even able to get away with as much as he did. They probably want to forget about it.

  32. you win the prize... ask yourself how many nexstar stations are doing local news at the same time... how many of those stations are airing the same pkgs from their sister stations... how many producers, technicians, and talent are involved in all this... and how much all of this costs... then consider how much they could save... one national show that covers the same material... rather than 100 stations duplicating efforts... newsnation is not a cable news network... newsnation is an incubator to implement cost-saving measures down the li
