  2. @TennTV1983Wow. Just wow. Nexstar is really stepping up their game. This is the easily one of the best sets in the group. Easily one of my favorite sets of the year, as well. It embraces Memphis so much & looks absolutely stunning.

  3. They are slowly hiring back. The layoffs are an excuse to get rid of expensive talent. They are then replaced with cheaper folks. for example.. pam zekman who was let go, was likely making 400-500K. this new chick from dallas is probably coming in at 120k. they still save money all the O and O’s are slowly hiring back.

  4. That's why I said over on Discord that it puts WFLA and KRON's new sets to shame. In-house or not, I think they nailed it.

  5. Another big clip from btm0815ma: the first two-thirds (the hour portion) of the second broadcast of Sunday Morning w/Charles Kuralt, Feb. 4, 1979 (apparently a raw feed, as at one point you see the studio empty, and then Charles comes back in to his easel, among other things):

  6. Ugh. First of all, they're not sure if it's "WHIO Tonight" or "WHIOTV7 Tonight". Second, the mandate of Cox's "_ Tonight" seems to be "cover fewer stories" and "de-emphasize weather". Also, HATE the b&w weather graphics. The graphics package in general, meh. As far as the format, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

  9. In what world is CBS suddenly expanding/hiring? They just did a mass cleansing at their O&O's nationwide?

  12. Well, since it is 2020, could Comcast/Xfinity have a retransmission consent issue with (gasp) itself?!?!?!??!?!? https://www.cordcuttersnews.com/comcast-could-lose-local-nbc-channels-more-in-carriage-disputes-with-itself-and-others/?fbclid=IwAR074B03v6DGumw6RHc98mHNYmUQQgfbjJ7Hqxe5_BWpCKAdpie-jBeeD0Y Looking at the list, Weigel and others are up in October and Hearst, Cox, Capitol/WRAL, Hubbard and NBC/Comcast are up in December.

  13. It's more fair to call it a blue grey. The ceiling is also not getting the level of lighting the set gets so it's hard to tell exactly. In what I've seen they're pretty close, but the set is definitely blue.

  15. As if screwing up their chances to own the former Tribune stations wasn't enough. Nexstar got them fair and square and is now reaches twice as many people. Any other deal in the pipeline is going to be a lot more messy should they want to grow their station portfolio...that is, if they can even afford it now.

  19. KGO somewhat seemed to get an update. ive noticed some flaws with Extra Bold on during the Accuweather Forecast and at the end of their newscast. The LIVE bug sometimes is small like KABC since KGO uses a larger version.

  20. I agree and not just Nexstar, but if you're going to go corner this is one of the best executions of it. Using the vista shots and making the corner seem like a corner office window makes it more theatric, as does having the effect on both sides of the studio. 2nd best looking set in the market after their roommate KGO Here's a clip with the night shots https://www.kron4.com/news/east-bay-residents-prepare-to-evacuate-amid-extreme-fire-danger/ Color me surprised they pulled off something rather timeless, save for the soon to be dated Chip and Joa

  22. Maybe with Ramar selling KJTV TV to Sagamorehill, and KLCW TV being sold to Gray TV, might be the right time to sell. With the FCC going to the Supreme Court to ease media ownership rules. This could be a blessing for all the parties involved .

  23. I think they were in a bit of a no-win situation w/ the interview. If Joe went in guns a blazing; they risk the chance of Trump never appearing on NN again. If they played it safe; people will knock them for not being tough enough. Joe unsuccessfully tried to play it down middle and they end up with nothing substantial (i.e... a good soundbite or two). Nevertheless, they walked away with the chance of Trump making another appearance (or two) in the future. We have to remind ourselves that it's going to take some time for NN to find its way. There are going to be things they get bo

  24. Their Cheyenne reporter walked out, and the lone meteorologist is leaving, their News Director doesn't know a thing about running a news operation since she was in Creative Services for several years (She made the old opens, reverse intros, etc. and if you go to YouTube and watch the old KTWO, it looks horrible. Her husband is a conspiracy theorist who works in Master Control. Neither are the brightest crayons in the box.) If anyone was smart, they would do research on KTWO BEFORE they apply.
