  1. With Election Day 9 days away, the btm0815ma channel has uploaded ABC News coverage of the 1982, 1984, 1988 and 1992 Election Night coverage. The 1984 and 1988 uploads are of particular interest (at least to me) due to this being the first time more than a handful of brief snippets of ABC's coverage from 1984 and 1988 have surfaced on YouTube compared to CBS, NBC and (for 1988) CNN. btm0815ma YouTube channel

  2. So earlier I seen one of you alluded to ABC O&Os rolling out a new look. That’s true but the standard package isn’t what you think it is it’s something totally different and much more flatter and modern.

  3. I agree and not just Nexstar, but if you're going to go corner this is one of the best executions of it. Using the vista shots and making the corner seem like a corner office window makes it more theatric, as does having the effect on both sides of the studio. 2nd best looking set in the market after their roommate KGO Here's a clip with the night shots https://www.kron4.com/news/east-bay-residents-prepare-to-evacuate-amid-extreme-fire-danger/ Color me surprised they pulled off something rather timeless, save for the soon to be dated Chip and Joa

  8. KGO somewhat seemed to get an update. ive noticed some flaws with Extra Bold on during the Accuweather Forecast and at the end of their newscast. The LIVE bug sometimes is small like KABC since KGO uses a larger version.

  9. Ugh. First of all, they're not sure if it's "WHIO Tonight" or "WHIOTV7 Tonight". Second, the mandate of Cox's "_ Tonight" seems to be "cover fewer stories" and "de-emphasize weather". Also, HATE the b&w weather graphics. The graphics package in general, meh. As far as the format, if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

  11. In Canada, a general election in the province of British Columbia is wrapping up this evening. Global BC & Okanagan, CTV Vancouver, CBC British Columbia, Radio-Canada, and CHEK-TV Victoria are all doing rolling coverage this evening. CBC, CTV, and Global starting an hour before polls close at 7 PM, with CHEK starting their coverage at 8 PM. The graphics for CBC, CTV, and Global are the same as the ones used during the New Brunswick election night. Global BC coverage (simulcast on Global Okanagan, BC1, and Corus news-talk station 980 CKNW Vancouver)

  14. Imagine being a reporter or working behind the scenes at WUSA. The bosses have now paid money to lure 3 primary anchors away from WTTG and yet, they’re still in 4th place. And still, everyone’s being asked to shoulder the load of corporate pain, taking unpaid furloughs, etc.

  15. I mean, the idea of flat and modern seems like a given. What do you think some people think it will be?

  16. Honestly, I'm not exactly sure what Sinclair is doing here. They haven't even indicated anything yet what they're going to do with the RSNs and the fact they have to restructure the debt ($8 billion of them to be exact) I'm going to be honest and frank I keep saying that both Sinclair and Meredith are in really bad shape and what's going on with both companies is further proving my point that I keep making time after time after time. Granted I don't know what Sinclair's plans are they won't tell us anything but so far people like Rich Greenfield of LightShed have been p

  17. Sinclair is really digging themselves into a hole on this one if they think they can muscle the OTT providers. These are more worthless now with all of the shutdowns and restrictions COVID has forced into the industry. It seems they are planning on launching their own OTT platform, either through Stirr or some other means. Let the sports fans pay for the RSNs. I remember back in the day the Sportschannel Ohio feed was a premium service and the extra Indians and Cavs games were scrambled. And they want to restructure the 8 BILLION in debt they have tied to this deal.

  18. Well...consider the fact that the purpose of the "newscast" is only to fill time between political ads...

  22. Maybe with Ramar selling KJTV TV to Sagamorehill, and KLCW TV being sold to Gray TV, might be the right time to sell. With the FCC going to the Supreme Court to ease media ownership rules. This could be a blessing for all the parties involved .

  23. I haven't watched KRON in a while, but I'm always interested in graphics and music packages. I'm a fan of Instant Classics. It's so iconic. And regardless of KRON's actual content, Instant Classics brings a sense of comfort. This is my first time seeing the opening graphics and I love them. Surprisingly modern and contemporary. The set also looks like the most modern design they've ever had.

  25. That's not a typo or an error. Many Nexstar stations that were former Tribune outlets (plus WJZY, and now WDKY) have that licensee name, Tribune Media Company.

  26. I think they were in a bit of a no-win situation w/ the interview. If Joe went in guns a blazing; they risk the chance of Trump never appearing on NN again. If they played it safe; people will knock them for not being tough enough. Joe unsuccessfully tried to play it down middle and they end up with nothing substantial (i.e... a good soundbite or two). Nevertheless, they walked away with the chance of Trump making another appearance (or two) in the future. We have to remind ourselves that it's going to take some time for NN to find its way. There are going to be things they get bo

  27. Their Cheyenne reporter walked out, and the lone meteorologist is leaving, their News Director doesn't know a thing about running a news operation since she was in Creative Services for several years (She made the old opens, reverse intros, etc. and if you go to YouTube and watch the old KTWO, it looks horrible. Her husband is a conspiracy theorist who works in Master Control. Neither are the brightest crayons in the box.) If anyone was smart, they would do research on KTWO BEFORE they apply.

  30. The set is great. They've succeeded in making the studio look much larger than before—the old FX-designed set felt very cramped, especially coming from the large set they had back in the old building at 1001 Van Ness. Yeah, some of the light bars are weird, but I love the use of the roof camera showing the Embarcadero, though the shot they were using at 5pm was really blown out with all of the white port buildings along the waterfront being lit by the setting sun. I didn't catch any of the primetime shows tonight but betting it looks much better at night. Also, it is kinda nice to see both anc
