  1. Nothing against the OP and others, but I feel like some of these individual Cox station threads (in graphics and general TV forums) could be combined into one Cox thread about the developments? There seems to have been somewhat of an (implied) consensus that Cox is working to change graphics in coordination with transforming all or most of its late-evening newscasts to "___ Tonight," so I think it would be nice to combine if this is the assumed "path of transition," if you will.

  4. Looks like KRDO (NPG) premiered new graphics today. Looks like they’re trying to mimic Good Morning America. Want a hot take? These are hot garbage.

  5. Looks like WHIO is in the process of switching to new graphics, they’re current package has been used since the spring of 2013 and WBBM used it back in 2008 when they switched to HD.

  6. Well it's about time! WHIO, WDTN, and WKEF/WRGT have had their graphics for WAY too long! I moved to Dayton in July 2014 and moved down to Warner Robins, GA this past January and none of the 3 stations changed their graphics or music the entire time. Really the only change was WHIO's set in 2018. I'm really surprised WDTN has kept the same graphics and music for 8 years even through 2 ownership changes (mergers). I guess they are content with staying #2 in the market as they have been for the last 60 years.

  8. The music sounds like a tool kit add on since it still has the 6 tone signature logo in the theme.

  10. Memphis as well as everywhere else. I do wonder what the standard Cox pkg is going to look like for all other timeslots outside of the Late Evening newscasts?

  12. They need it all. New team, new reporters, new weather and sports anchors as well as a new set and theme. So RIP News With a Twist, it's been nice knowing you. And say hello to the NEW ABC26 News.

  13. I don't like oval logos, it feels like there's so much dead space. I like how KDKA is stylized. Had they used a box instead of oval, or even just a line to separate the frequencies, I think it would have looked great.

  14. A lot of it I think is going to depend upon the election as well because by the time we get through with all of the approval process we may have a much different FCC and trust me, if the Dems get back control there will be scrutiny on this deal for sure especially knowing how strict the Dems were about sharing agreements (that's how Hearst couldn't continue operating WJCL and WTGS together when they bought 22 during the Wheeler era. To be honest, I think Gray and SagamoreHill picked the wrong time to even be thinking about doing anything not named News Share Agreement.

  15. Hate saying this, but I'm already liking the new Q13 News opens. I just wished OSI Music stick around a little while longer on some FOX O&O stations.

  18. Shockingly, Griffin's KWTV/KSBI isn't among that group. I think they must be waiting for Tulsa to join the ATSC 3.0 bandwagon before they too join the bandwagon.

  19. ATSC 3.0 is Live in Oklahoma City The five stations broadcasting NextGen TV in Oklahoma City include Hearst’s KOCO-TV (ABC), Nexstar Media Group’s KFOR-TV (NBC) and KAUT-TV (IND); and Sinclair’s KOKH-TV (Fox) and KOCB-TV (CW).

  20. After a bit of a lull in ATSC 3.0 developments, there was a big launch today on October 7th. https://tvnewscheck.com/article/top-news/254354/four-austin-stations-roll-out-atsc-3-0/ AUSTIN: Nexstar's KXAN (NBC) and KBVO (MyNetworkTV) Vaughan's KNVA (CW) Sinclair's KEYE (CBS) I guess Tegna and Fox weren't ready for the switch yet. As for the next markets to watch for imminent launches, TVTechnology reports Denver, Los Angeles, Mobile/Pensacola (as mentioned above), and Oklahoma City. https://www.tvtechnology.com/news/atsc-3

  22. KDKA Radio announced today that starting on 11/2 (their 100th anniversary), they will begin simulcasting on 100.1 FM Pittsburgh. Apparently from what I've heard on social media, the FM station won't be KDKA-FM, but instead a low-power translator. (Edit: 100.1FM is W261AX) They've also ditched their Group W logo in favor...something else. https://www.radio.com/kdkaradio/news/local/kdka-radio-has-a-new-home-100-1-fm
