  1. More people probably read this message board than watch either KYUR or KTBY. It is essentially irrelevant in Alaska.

  2. I honestly love Wolf and Anderson but I really wonder if they would be able to breakaway from the yelling panels, return to real news and drop the politics. Erin is/was better at business news. And let's be honest, Chris wouldn't have been moved to primetime if trump didn't win, he's good at arguing, yelling and hyping things up but that's what CNN wanted to increase ratings. I really like the people you mentioned but I don't know if they'll be able to return to real news. Zucker's got to go, the sports division is big money, only a matter of time before he ruins that.

  3. Headlines, intro and partial segment of Nuevediario from 9 August 1995, on the day the program became "serious", with new graphics and theme. I have to admit that I've been looking for this footage for a long time: 2 years. So, here it is! (the video also includes snippets from different editions as well) Headlines and "top of the hour" from Sky News Arabia on 13 October 2020. BBC1's Nine O'Clock News from 10 October 1989, with Michael Buerk.

  4. There's two ways Gray could go with WOHZ. One would be as a fill-in translator for WOIO/WUAB, but I'm not sure where they'd put it... up north to Lorain or Huron? Remember that WOIO/WUAB has a pretty good translator in Akron, so it wouldn't be needed there. Leaving it in Mansfield seems a bit... weird, as it IS a border market between Cleveland and Columbus (and to some extent, even Toledo to the northwest). The second possibility is... relaunching WOHZ as a semi-satellite of WOIO for Ashland/Mansfield, relaying almost all of WOIO's programming except for a Mansfield-area newscast or two (and it's not THAT ridiculous a concept when you realize that 1) WMFD has thrived with a Mid-Ohio news department and Sunbeam-level program inventory for 30 years, and 2) Raycom built and signed on WMBF from almost nothing 14 years ago). Because WOIO (RF 10) and WBNS (PSIP 10) have to avoid signal overlap by any means necessary, there's a small gap in OTA CBS availability between the two signal contours that Gray could exploit to an advantage.

  5. Obviously she should’ve went to the professional and contacted a certain LA anchor for some advice when she was dating the Mayor of Los Angeles back in the day.....

  6. The peak was definitely during the Applegate/Action News era. While it tested the limits of what was considered journalism. It definitely brought WOIO to a new level of success, along with WKYC rising out of the doldrums for the first time. Romona's return was probably the last major investment, and this was after WKYC couldn't afford her anymore. The same had happened two years before with Tim White. As the Applegate era was drawing to a close, so was the growth of Raycom and eventual merger with Gray. The "Cleveland 19" era was a mistake, it softened the newscasts too much and Raycom began to treat WOIO like another middle-market station. They had made the same mistake in their first go-around as "Hometeam 19/43" as the stations were indistinguishable from their cohorts across the country. Yes, the "19 News" was the oomph that WOIO needed, but it's too little too late given all of the slashing and burning that took place. They literally stacked the deck during the "Cleveland 19" relaunch with way too many poached anchors in the same place, and virtually all of them were gone within a short while. Meanwhile, WUAB was left to wither and die under Raycom, being overtaken by WBNX soon after, and WUAB only got the CW as a result of all of the Ernest Angley foreclosure drama.....and CBS's desire to put it on a major-grouped station.

  7. Tubi has added live news streams from the Fox Television Stations, NewsNOW from Fox and Fox Soul as part of a new "News on Tubi" section, a new FAST (free ad-supported streaming television) channel offering that will also include NBC News Now, Black News Channel, WeatherNation TV, CBC News (the curated stream already available on Xumo), Bloomberg Television, Cheddar, fubo Sports Network, PeopleTV and News 12 New York (not sure if it's a curated feed of content from each of the News 12 Networks or a pure live stream of any of the channels). "News from Tubi" is only available on Tubi's Google Play, Roku and Amazon Fire TV apps; curiously, they didn't bother to roll it out to its other apps, most glaringly, its Apple app.

  8. CINCINNATI – The E.W. Scripps Company (NASDAQ: SSP) will expand its commitment to Michigan audiences early next year by producing its own local newscasts at WSYM, its Fox affiliate in Lansing. The introduction of local news operations at WSYM builds on Scripps’ footprint across Michigan: its three markets reach approximately 81% of the state’s TV households. Scripps also owns WXYZ (ABC) and WMYD (MY Network) in Detroit and WXMI (Fox) in Grand Rapids. WSYM previously aired local news from WILX, the NBC affiliate in Lansing owned by Gray Television. https://scripps.com/press-releases/scripps-station-expands-news-operations/

  9. I’ve been watching more CNN over the last week with the crazy state of our nation at this time. Gotta say, the coverage is ridiculous no matter how deserved it might be. It’s become the trump news network and it’s beyond ridiculous how much time they dedicate to every single word he says.
