  1. The headline preview at the beginning of the show is way too long...and so overly dramatic.. And they keep teasing the same upcoming stories too many times, before going to commercial. It's becoming like Inside Edition.

  2. Nice touch with the mountains in the background. Adds a bit more depth. A suitable color scheme for Colorado, really, given how cold it gets.

  3. It’s not going to stop. They’re the most watched program across all of television, not just news, but across all television. They’re unlikely to change anything about their current formula.

  6. Yeah, I feel like the headlines preview could be cut down to a minute or two. At least it's better than CBS'S "But first, the headlines in 60 seconds" that was used for a few months in Jeff Glor's run. I'm really getting tired of the "breaking news as we come on the air" or the "several developing stories" phrases. It sounds somewhat predictable and robotic and got old a couple years ago. I don't remember ABC doing this years ago. As much as I like Muir, I wish he could tone down the dramatic tone when reading the opening headlines. It won't happen though. I'm not a fan of the cold fade. I wish they'd show the outside camera of Times Square and an ending version of the music package. I'm glad NBC and CBS still do this.

  7. Can David whispering “goodnight” and the cold fade to black stop as well, while we are putting in our TVNT requests?

  8. Agreed. And the “breaking news as we come on the air tonight” has got to stop.

  11. I agree. Honestly this doesn’t look half bad and can actually be considered an upgrade from the current look, IMO. As for the rest of the package—we’ll wait and see.

  12. I personally can’t stomach much of WNT under Muir’s hand but because he’s been a smashing success (even before COVID-19) I don’t see them changing anything up. We’re still waiting on them to move to a new set that they’ve managed to use for several other programs. Without a doubt, Lester Holt and NBC are producing the best news product anywhere at 6:30 pm. They blow ABC and CBS out of the water.

  13. The few times I've watched CBSN (mostly back when the 10pm show on KBCW was still a thing), the slight misalignment between the bug and lower-third bar drives me crazy. Can't believe no one has fixed this yet.

  14. Is the NBC election set housed in Studio 1A? If so, the NN made beautiful use of it last night. Today doesn’t even seem to be as versatile with the space as NN was Monday evening.

  15. Any mention on WNBC of the recent lightning strike near the Statue of Liberty and its similarity to News 4 New York’s iconic lightning strike open?

  16. They have been running a promo this week about Chuck returning to the studio. Wonder when Today In New York has both anchors in studio?
