  2. @jerseyfla Yup, and it's a confirmed custom (though no composer known). I'd title it "Big 13, Where News Comes First". Debuted September 1982. https://www.newspapers.com/clip/58047792/

  3. With the slogan in the image campaign promo at 3:44, it probably is safe to say the news music package known at WTVT 1983 Theme should probably be titled “Where News Comes First”. Who knows they probably had been using it since 1982 just like WFLA’s “Spirit of Tampa Bay” theme was discovered as starting that year too.

  4. Well, Marissa left WAGA in February so I think this could give some credence to the possibility that Allison was basically already on her way out, but I'm still unsure as to why she was then unceremoniously booted off, assuming this was the timeline of events. Still sad for Allison, but I wish Marissa well at WTTG. ---------------- In other news, Jacob Wycoff, meteorologist at WGGB and freelance at WBZ, has now announced he is officially joining WBZ full-time, which shocks no one, considering his on-air time had sort of grown lately. He's supposed to fill in the void left by the now-retired Barry Burbank, but I kind of see him as a Todd Gutner (now at WCSH).

  5. Sister station KTLA runs the Morning News block from 4a-11am. Then another news block from 11am-12pm under the Morning News banner with the afternoon anchors, plus news at 1pm and 3pm. Its been successful for them, but yes, it is overkill.

  6. Chris is in studio, Mary is anchoring from home. They are also back to doing that odd thing where Chris anchors one block of the newscast, then after the break Mary anchors the next block of the newscast. Curious what happened to have them revert to the anchors working from home?

  7. WRGB circa May 1986: Later that year, they would upgrade their set, graphics and hire a new meteorologist (John Cessarich).
