  1. Y'all happy now? Because if the next time WCBS (or any other station) has to leave their studios for whatever reason, I'm sending them straight to y'all houses so they can stay local. There hasn't been a newscast on WLNY for over 2 weeks and y'all stayed silent but WCBS was forced out and someone else helped them back on the air and y'all think the world was ended. I'm glad they are back at the Broadcast Center (not in the main studio) and they're using CBSN theme for bumpers and the close.

  2. Honest to God fellas, I didn't mean to start a war here! Can we please agree to disagree without being sarcastic to each other? This has turned into a Twitter like war.

  3. Lazy efforts? Sounds like someone sitting on a couch typing away on their phone/tablet complaining about petty items. NYC is currently at the epicenter of this crisis, and in a time where movement is restricted, we’re accusing a station of being lazy because their building may be infected with this disease and isn’t allowing them to resume normal operations resulting in one cancelled newscast (probably the least watched), and necessitating help from sister stations. Gimme a break! If everything else was normal And they were doing this, I would sympathize with your complaint, but not now. What viewers are complaining? It seems like just you and two other people. And if it doesn’t matter, then why ARE you complaining? Then again, I don’t know why I’m surprised as your posts usually stick out to me as overcomplaining anyways (see GMA and Today threads). C’mon, there are bigger problems in the world to worry about right now.

  4. I think priorities have shifted (for obvious reasons) and they will unveil it at some point in the future. They accomplished the goal of having it done by the midterms, which was the main reason for building it in the first place.

  5. Listen, if they want to drive to Buffalo to shoot their news, damn it, I will bow in their presence. I have no problem with it being produced anywhere at any time, though I for one liked the sidewalk option.

  9. With the internet (which includes WCBS's website) functional 24/7, and both WABC & WNYW having 12pm newscasts, plus WNBC at 11am, WCBS temporarily omitting a 12pm newscast isn't that critical. It might reflect on some less than stellar internal management as some suggest, but it's nothing that serious. I will concede that should a situation like this arise again, WCBS, including the other stations/networks need solid contingency plans for backup studio space. Did people really take time out of their day to call the news station because regular news presenters weren't on air?

  10. The length of Saturday Today varies week-by-week because NBC carries a Premier League match on Saturday mornings (although it's on hiatus along with all the other sports).

  11. Last night at 11 Stefan Holt was broadcasting either from his home or his dad's. John Chandler did sports from an empty newsroom , whereas earlier in the week Bruce Beck had switched to at home. This morning Rafael Miranda also was broadcasting from home. On Saturday Today, Dave Price has been filling in for Dylan Dreyer who is on family leave. Like yesterday on News 4, he broadcast from home. It seems NBC is being much more aggressive at getting on air folks out of 30 Rock and setting them up at home. Both Holts seem to have been set up with green screens, the rest including Chuck Scarborough, Janet Huff and Maria LaRosa from home offices or dens. I assume space, ability to be separate from spouses, kids, and pets (except fish as in Price's case) and capabilities (space for lighting, cameras, teleprompter, high speed connection, etc) for each on air person is taken into consideration as to who can broadcast remotely or not. After all this is done with, it would be interesting to see how they were able to pull all this off.

  12. Looking at the schedule on the TV Guide app, they replaced the 12pm newscast with Inside Edition. I imagine it's just a temporary move.

  13. I’ve always been skeptical that someone like that really believe 100% of what they say... Is she really Actually that much of a conservative that she believes in virus as impeachment ploy Or could she have been faking it because that’s where she was and what that audience wants to hear?

  16. Maybe their agreement with YES includes that YES needs their studio and control room during the midday. Maybe WCBS doesn't want to add additional stress to an already stressful situation for their staff. There are stations out there who strategically do NOT cover things, to provide a place for people to go who don't want to be bombarded with news. For a long time, WDJT wouldn't do breaking news or severe weather coverage unless it was an extraordinary situation. Why? Not only because they knew that three other stations would do it better, but also because they knew that some people might not care and just want to watch something on TV. By NOT covering the situation, they were providing something for people to watch that wasn't the news. They very well may be doing this on purpose, because they're in a situation where they might not be able to offer any decent coverage at noon, and also know that there are, what, five other OTA stations on at the same time that can do better? They're working out of a borrowed studio, homes, and news cars. Give them a break.

  17. It boggles my mind that some of you are sitting here complaining. Who cares if anchors in LA or SF are anchoring the news. You’re getting the news, aren’t you. It seems petty with everything else going on that people are finding the need to nitpick about every little thing. I’m sure they’re not purposely skipping the noon news. They’re at this age just not able to do it. Change over to channel 7! Some of you are saying that it is irresponsible that they are skipping it, well it’s irresponsible that you guys are sitting here complaining about instead of just changing the channel! End rant.

  18. You guys and gals left out KENS 5. They still use the Eyewitness News brand.

  19. They know it'll be preempted by some kind of Tri-State governor's statement, so why prepare a noon show? They have more important things to worry about (not having a functional building/newsroom) than preparing a noon show that'll probably go in the shredder anyways. These are unusual times and there are stations placing their E/I burdens on during weekday noon hours in order to get them in if 45 preempts them on the weekends and provide something to kids knowing they're a captive audience. Honestly, FTVLive's usual 'news grump' act looks kind of petty right now; I don't give a damn about their whining about some reporter having their regional Emmy in their home shot.

  20. Since they debuted the news set in January of 2019, all the shows have been anchored out of the Huntington studios. However, they have brought back the “dual box” during this pandemic.

  21. Oh, come on. There are more options here than "stay-at-home moms" and people in assisted living/nursing homes. There are: Retired people People who work non-"standard" hours and are thus free to have the TV on in the mornings if they're awake People who work from home and are thus also free to have the TV on Stay-at-home dads And those are just the ones I can think of.

  22. Some sites don’t update as quick as their on air look. For example, WNYT kept its 1997-era logo on its website 3 months past their August 2004 refresh.
