Since we've seen clips of WMAQ's blizzard coverage and Floyd Kalber, let's combine the two and take a look at this clip of Kalber from 1967: Here's Kalber in 1972: And here's Kalber's 1976 farewell from WMAQ (featuring Jane Pauley and goodbye messages from other Chicago news teams):

I'm surprised iHeart had that many people left to cut.

Great open!!! Is wonderful I look the "Better Journalism" look on the open make them look more aggressive along with the " Just One Station" look. It very nice another thing is that really the 3d logo is under the title card name "Fox 11 News at (time) _____ " . Other stations that had the package did that, KTTV shows it before showing the newscast name, in the red/white mixed lines it's very pretty. And cool really looks 3D and the customized it really well with an LA flare to this new opening graphics card. It's really nice

I’m so happy to see Propulsion (a.k.a the spirit of Texas) live on even after Tegna ripped it out from under WFAA. Such a great signature.

Other than WOWK, Nexstar hasn't done much to the ex-WVMH stations. They're STILL on the KTLA look from long ago.

It looks amazing inside and out. It won't translate to better ratings though...

Copyright 2o20 Way to go, Scripps. (look at the bottom of the endcap. Apparently, the first 0 is actually the letter O in 2020)

Scripps gets nailed with a $1.13 million fine from the FCC in an investigation from the ex-Cordillera stations over tower lighting and maintenance at 10 facilities in 5 states. Cordillera also had failed to notify the FCC of its purchase of two antenna structures.

The blurring of the skyline gives the 2 shot some more depth and less of that sitting in a corner feel

Interesting implementation. Music fit relatively well. I would've not had that 2nd scene in the open to make it flow better and I'd slightly slow down the FOX "O" animation at the end. Looks like they basically run the open twice too...before and after the tease. I know it's not exactly the same, but pretty close.

O...kay? So? Sounds to me like Ushery is working late, and Price is off. Not sure what's so special about any of this.

A substantial number of jobs got eliminated today at the radio behemoth including massive air talent layoffs. The carnage is so extensive that all air talent references have been removed from iHeart Radio websites. https://radioinsight.com/headlines/183270/ongoing-list-of-those-affected-by-iheartmedia-cuts/
