  1. That is from the AirCraft library, which the NMSA for some reason cites as Soundtrack. The AirCraft site also has the long cuts of the pieces from them. The Visionary is on CD ACL-032 "Image Makers II". Other common tracks from this library are on ACL-011 "Image Makers", like The Leading Edge, News Breakers and Always a New Horizon. ACL-040 has some political tracks that got used and have NMSA entries, and there are a couple of other 90s tracks I think saw some use in sports.

  7. Just watching "The Weekly" - which is a current affairs show hosted by Wendy Mesley on CBC (and presumably CBC News Network). Wendy was the primary backup and dedicated Sunday evening anchor during the Peter Mansbridge-era of The National and led the show during the transition to the new format. They've been on the air for a year now, using Studio 55 at the CBC - which is also known as the home of The National. Here's a few caps/photos. They change the colours around to suit their look (orange and teal vs. dark blue) which I am quite a fan of. They also borrow the graphics from The National - albeit with a different colour for the font. I've included a few photos from The National just for a comparison.

  10. Whoops, I was wrong — it was March 1981 that they dropped "NewsCenter 2". Sheesh, KTVI was changing imaging more than its underwear... (The Fox OSI theme has lasted longer than the last four music packages they used combined!) We don't have any early-80s 'HTM to really say, unfortunately. Though I did find this 1979 WTPA (!!) sportscast (the callsign change was in 1980 and this is January 27, 1979):

  11. Another of the few NBC stations that had the sports man billed as "on sports": WGAL Channel 8 (NBC Harrisburg/Lancaster/York, PA), circa 1989, for the late edition (which announcer Charlie Van Dyke billed as the "Late Report" of NewsCenter 8).

  12. So, WGAL aired their Childrens Miracle Network telethon finale this evening. WGAL has been a great station for CMN. WGAL’s morning anchor Jere Gish was recently named best local TV personality for CMN. WGAL didn’t use Studio A this year. Nope. They didn’t use WITF’s studio as they did years before, yes, they went there for it. This year, sorry WGAL deserves a HOP. This year, not sure if it was a WGAL decision or Penn State Health’s decision but this year ... it was held in the Cafeteria ... by the tray return. Seriously? Wow. — Matt
