  6. Chet and Nat were married to others before they were married to each other and Chet had kids with his first wife. Heck, Jacobson was the last name of Nat's first husband! On the Boston tangent, Phil Lipof went down a similar path with his wife Juli (Auclair), first at WRNN (they met while detouring that way) then at WHDH back in the 90s.

  11. Or maybe the Garland Robinette & Angela Hill of Cincinnati... The main difference, however, between the Dardis/Paolello relationship and that of the aforementioned Garland/Angela and Chet/Nat relationships, is that Dardis and Paolello each have children from previous marriages/relationships (info courtesy of the bios on the WLWT website). So there's that....

  12. They recently hired Rachel Briers who joined last month from last KWES. I had originally thought Collin would take over Elita’s old schedule of 11a, 3 & 4p until I saw his FB post. So wonder if Rachel will do 11a & 4p M-F and add the 3p on Monday’s & Tuesday’s? Or perhaps she takes David’s weekend slot and David is moved to weekdays?

  13. This is an utter gold mine. I’ve always loved KCNC’s opens, especially all the opens that showed shots of Denver with the “Image” package playing... Newsmusic Central’s work at KCNC is so underrated. And wow, Carlos Amezcua worked there?

  14. Now might be a good time, with those 2 new stations (which they can use to pilot the new graphics) plus the Cordillera stations coming soon. Plus, the current Scripps graphics are quite old although they have aged well. Maybe just do a Hearst-like tweak of them rather than a total makeover?

  17. Just in time for the end of the year... KUSI is now on Roku! Now everyone can enjoy the old classic set, those favorite Grandpa and Grandma anchors...and a few pretty "nieces". And who can forget that smell of Old Spice during every anchor toss. You will also get to see Mark Mathis the twitter beat down king. Plus.... The ghost of John Coleman...and his extended 50 year climate change forecast. Happy News Year from the McKinnons.

  19. It is with a very heavy heart I tell you that Doug Johnson, the longtime Chief Weathercaster at KPRC (NBC) Houston has passed away today. Doug anchored the weather at KPRC for 33 years until his retirement in 1994. Doug along with the late, great Ron Stone were two great KPRC legends throughout the 70s, 80s and 90s until Ron's retirement in 1992. From hurricanes, thunderstorms, hail and hot sunny days... Doug was there to cover it all. Tribute of Doug Johnson is on the KPRC's website. Condolences goes out to Doug's family and to his extended family at KPRC NBC 2. Rest in peace, Doug and Godspeed. And say hello to Ron Stone from all of us. https://www.click2houston.com/news/doug-johnson-longtime-kprc2-weatherman-dies-at-79
