  2. I've said it since Tribune filed their lawsuit against Sinclair, this is the beginning of the end for Sinclair as more media mergers and as we saw with Cordillera, other media companies like Cox that are looking for buyers will say No to Sinclair as many times as possible no matter how much Sinclair offers them. Like @channel2 said in the Speculatron board, smart companies like Cordillera will avoid Sinclair at all costs because they cannot entrust Sinclair to make the necessary divestitures where needed. Only companies like Tribune will make a fool of themselves and be faced with months of regulatory delays and (eventually) the merger being sent by the FCC to an ALJ and resulting in a termination of the deal.

  3. A WWAY 1992 newscast. The Image Leader...in the 90s...yeah not such a good fit.

  4. Ouch. That is cheaper than the sound a baby chick makes. (Heh heh heh... ) Anyways you like Des Moines? (Vince was gone 4 months later to anchor in Providence, RI): Or El Paso? (Btw I’m gonna update my KTSM video once i have the new opens they just unveiled sent to me - apparently they don’t livestream?)

  5. Wonderful package. Got me from the little montage of sunburst-yellow logos at the beginning. (Yay for including the iconic 1979-82 logo!) Bonus points for spotlighting the REAL stars of the format: the Eyewitness News TEAM. Roger and Bill might have been the greatest anchor team in television news history, but that cast of characters around them deserve equal points for making that newscast shine. NJ Burkett is absolutely right when he calls WABC the "New York Yankees of television news". I can't think of any other station with such a pedigree. Maybe.... MAYBE WPVI. Some of those are clearly from YouTube uploads (some of which I personally did)... but they own the footage so I can't really complain. https://abc7ny.com/community-events/eyewitness-news-anchor-roger-grimsby-profile-(1982)/4647748/ Great look at WABC's greatest-ever talent (sorry Bill Beutel).

  6. It doesn't help Tribune that they're a public company and they could be seen as breaching their fiduciary duty to refuse the highest bid...

  8. They're moving to the West Village, which is south of Hudson Yards. It won't be for several years, though.
