It's sad that #53 KSDK's execution of the L3 is better than #28 KFMB's. KFMB doesn't promote their social media anywhere, the "News8" logo bug is static, and the font is WAY too big compared to other stations. Also, the scores like to overlap in the ticker during sports, and when they have stock information it's aligned against the very top of the blue bar.

Wow I didn't notice that last night when I watched. That is very cool I like Tiyn.

Yeah, this is killing me. Kaity Tong and Howard Thompson are the 2 at WPIX I respect the most. Who is going to be the hard worker for New Yorkers not named Arnold Diaz?

iHeartMedia has unequivocally opposed further dereg on the radio front... on the grounds it would allow other groups like Entercom or Cumulus to come in and erode their ratings/revenue positions in the largest markets. It got to the point that CEO Bob Pittman threatened that iHeart would go on an M&A spree of their own to keep up (and after they emerge from chapter 11 in a few weeks, it’s not that empty a threat). Sinclair’s bad behavior and shady business practices with Tribune undoubtedly has totally sucked all the energy out of further dereg in terrestrial television. And don’t forget that, even with GOP majorities in both chambers of the legislative branch that would otherwise be very conducive to dereg, they have a hard time coming to agree on anything. They couldn’t repeal the Affordable Care Act and almost fumbled a SCOTUS nomination that was nearbly unfumbleable, you think this bunch will be able to raise any ownership caps?

I like this. Digging how the K and Y flow from/into the O. But what do I know about design, haha. I’ll just wait until Brand New posts a blog about it and its readers tear it apart.

Okay, I'll bite: Why is it not a good choice?

Hello. My name is Sylvia and I'm a polish student of journalism and social communication. I want to ask you all for a favor. I'm writing my BA thesis and I've made a survey about media, which is totally anonymous and its results will be used only for research purposes. Can you fill this survey? This is very important for me. I'd be grateful. Thank you so much Here is the link: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfyR9A6zsMMLt0rBE1AA8L5W9QEqfGaSCnmEvJSusBEksv_Zg/viewform?usp=sf_link

Up next... Connecticut! WFSB’s always had some great station imaging over the years IMO.

They'll never admit it, but I can't imagine that it wasn't a factor.

That was NOT a good choice. NBC needs to end weekend editions of TODAY. Peter needs to stay in Washington to help his wife Alison Starling.

There probably was one included. Standard issue. The question would be what scope of "immorality" it covers.

That is the kind of stuff that the person that wrote it probably didn’t think would last till next week let alone 50 or 60 years... cool stuff...

On the rare instances I listened to local radio (99% is on SiriusXM the remaining 1% is in stores) WBFF and others have advertised their primetime lineup on the former CBS Stations. WBAL’s radio sister stations only promote them.

Cutting-edge stuff for ‘88. Definitely set the tone for the early-mid 1990s.

The 10PM Report from WCCO News for June 8, 1988. This would have been a brand new look, too: And a KCCI noon show from 1996:

Beyond the music, let's talk about the poor production quality of the newscasts featured in the above clips. The clueless 9 am open. The 6 pm open where the wrong story was featured on the video wall. Ouch. And they're number one?!?

I don't hate Tamsen like everyone else seems to, but...(rhetorically speaking...) why would they keep her over any of her co-anchors?

Time and money, mainly. These are also very specialized tools that require special training to read and understand. Almost anything involving RF propagation gets contracted out to a third party.

So does Fox New Mexico have the standard Nexstar Fox graphics? If so, this would be the first time that KRQE and KRQE 13.2 have different graphics.

A filler of Seven News Overnight in 1985. The YouTube account where this video used to be (FLEMISHDOG) was shut down some months ago and he's uploading everything again, but now on the Internet Archive! That blue CBS eye looks tacky with the logo.

I’m not sure they’d be worth that much. Sure it’s full of history but other stations covered the same stuff. Stations “donate” their archives to the library when they run out of space or don’t want to pay the price of it being digitized. When digitizing film reels or tapes they have to play out in real time - even if you have multiple tape machines running your still looking at atleast two years of full time work. Hence why they donate it to schools - they get historic video, the stations retain the copyright and rights within market and usually the clips could be sold. The schools probably got a few undergraduates doing volunteer or student work for scholarships to handle the intake.

Confirmed: All stations in Panama City - radio and TV - are off the air. It gets worse: the iHeart cluster is not only off the air, their staff is trapped and unable to escape due to flooding. This is their chief engineer’s Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10212767408247109

Wait. I love the new one. This is definitely better than previous ones. Excluding the London olympics logo, that one was awesome!

So I’ve been told by reputable source that the targeted move in date was October 1 and now it’s been moved to mid October to the end of the month. Apparently the cameras and video walls are giving them issues.

Brand New is full of ink-stained curmudgeons, many of whom don't get motion or broadcast design.

You think it's that bad? It's clever if anything. The typeface is symbolic of Japanese script and their architecture. Though I admit, I wish they'd bring back the shield aspect.

I guess the cancellation of the Sinclair sale was a factor?

Ah yes, the old light patch bay. However, I have seen a lot of smaller-market stations that did their old setup on the cheap and simply used a breaker box to turn on the circuits.
