  2. 25+ minutes of coverage of the 1978 World Series from New York TV stations WCBS, WNBC, WNEW, WABC, and WPIX. Includes cameos from pretty much every New York TV sports anchor of the time. Plus John Tesh, Larry Kane and Chuck Scarborough.

  3. WHSV's (Harrisonburg, VA) Victoria Wood heads down I-81 to join Roanoke's WDBJ. She's the new weekend sports anchor and weekday sports reporter. She made her debut last week. http://www.roanoke.com/sports/colleges/tv-radio-notes-wdbj-adds-martinsville-native-victoria-wood/article_2e7d6ba2-4e69-5f5d-b77f-8a1ae6336fac.html

  4. As I recall, his on-air shift was weekday afternoons on CLTV. I can only assume he'll still retain that role 2-3 days a week while Tim McGill does the other days.

  10. Now why don't we have our presenters or anchors in the US approach the same way the Argentinian counterparts do in presentation as the intro + headlines showcased. Make a world of difference. More personable than 'We are like a family' trite.

  11. The way those build-ups were, I figured the station would have them doing the whole newscast. Oh well.

  12. Well, after all they technically work for ABC. The stations mentioned above are all Owned and Operated by ABC Television so I take it is very easy for them to pool their resources together.

  13. Yep. If anyone hasn’t caught it yet, former WTEN weatherman Nick Johnston has taken a job at WGY as a news anchor. Thankfully he’s sticking to the Capital Region.

  14. KTAL's Dan and Jacque Jovic are husband and wife and so are Melissa Kakareka and James Parish of KSLA. KSLA had another married couple, Clay Ostarly and Victoria Shirley but they moved up to Roanoke, where they now work for rivaling stations, Clay on WFXR and Victoria on WDBJ. Melissa Moon (WREG) and Melanie Moon (last seen on KPLR) are twin sisters.

  18. I'll begin with 2 of my all-time favorite Sports promos (and I have a lot of the sports promos from every network (except CBS) on my YouTube channel As narrated by late Hal Douglas: "The NFL, the NBA, Major League Baseball, Notre Dame Football, the PGA Tour, Wimbledon, the USGA Championships and the 2000 and 2002 Olympic Games. All on America's Sports Leader, NBC." This is the one I like the most: "The NFL and the Super Bowl, the Breeders Cup, the PGA Tour, the NBA and the NBA Finals, Notre Dame Football, Wimbledon, the U.S. Open and the 2000, 2002, 2004, 2006 and 2008 Olympic Games. All on America's Sports Leader, NBC."

  20. Today's KMBC 9? To quote Pat Sajak from the 80s when he went Bankrupt on the Final Spin "Fire this man" or should I say fire whoever it was that came up with that idea

  21. It's possible. Remember that ABC 33/40 in Birmingham retained several longtime personalities after Sinclair took over (James Spann, Pam Huff, Jeff Speegle, Brian Peters and Brenda Ladun, along with the now-retired Dave Baird). There are probably several other examples among the group, I don't know any more. I didn't know, either. How is she related to them? In-law? Cousin?
