What mutated creature will spawn from that "long overdue" idea? How much more slobber can LA produce? Kill me now.

...why? Didn't their 6:30 show basically rate hashmarks?

I'd like to say I just threw this together tonight, but no. I've had this nearly ready to go just for this occasion...

And while not statistically very important - it probably hasn't escaped Ansin's detailed notice that WGBX's master antenna location on the "CBS" tower is about 300 feet higher than WHDH's - which gives it a coverage area 10% larger - and that is also where WNEU is headed...

So, I've just recently found out the name and producer for the TEGNA's new music for the group...and it IS French, btw. It's titled C Clarity, composed by the famed French audio identity creator Michaël Boumendil, and produced/published by the french branding group Sixieme Son. You're welcome.

It's kinda funny that people, myself included, doubted that Comcast could find any frequency for NBC Boston after Ed Ansin spurred them. And they wound up with four, including a de facto full-market signal coming from Needham and covering the whole market... in 1080i. On a reasonable PSIP frequency of 15. (And that's not counting the pending move of WNEU's tower to the Needham farm.)

WJZ and WBAL’s employees may have started creating some diversions to mess the other station up, and throw rocks at each other in the process, since WBAL and WJZ’s studios are literally close to each other.

According to TVAnswerMan.com, Charter is expanding Spectrum News to Los Angeles, Ohio, Kansas City, Wisconsin and Kentucky. https://tvanswerman.com/2018/01/31/charter-to-launch-news-channels-in-los-angeles-4-other-markets/

Clearly an attempt to mimic the CBS Evening News look of the period...
You sure that's 1998? Wowza! Those graphics had to have been in use for years. Also...KFBB is on the Silvertree client list. @TServo2049 this is one you'll want to see!
This may have been the last newscast with the KFMB Silvertree theme, in this tease the anchor mentions a brand new look coming: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=yHLBCBKDNaY;m=13;s=8 Also in the video are IDs using different graphics and the Score Productions ABC theme, could this have been the new look mentioned?

WBAL could easily decide to put strobes on their roof or have their big sign on the roof lit on the back. That would totally mess up all of WJZ’s outback liveshot locations. Edit: How about one of those giant inflatables that light up inside. Just inflate it as they go on air. Also some occasions WBAL has used the front facade of their building which faces I-83/JFX as a billboard/video screen. They hire some company to come out and professionally project images. Maybe they could figure out how to do it out back.

I can confirm that all NBC Hearst stations are supposed to be getting this look by the time the Olympics get underway.

Started to see more elements on WBAL. The race is on to see who get new graphics first WBAL or WJZ.

A look at KSTP’s weekend news in 1990. Includes Stan Turner and a young Scott Chapin (as in his first years VO’ing WSVN young).

SkyEye Chopper 13 has lost its eye. It’s now just Chopper 13.

Also should be noted they dropped "First Warning Weather" in recent days, opting for WJZ Weather instead. All the character of the station is slowly but surely evaporating

That music sounds even worse when it’s trying to be serious.
