  1. This ND has zero clue about how to run and manage a newsroom. But he sure does use all the latest newsroom buzz words. And... This goof is making the reporters pitch the active stand-up in the early meeting...before you even start shooting the story. This ND is going to be bent over and beaten by his own staff and hopefully at the company Christmas party where everyone can watch. BTW... Just how much money does every "like" on facebook generate for the station?

  2. for some reason FOX or tribune has been doing this for a while now. apparently when you watch FOX's live stream on FOX's website they show the Tribune Broadcasting logo or in some areas the golden Nexstar "LOCAL" logo looping for a few seconds (the same ones after a newscast) before going to commercials. i could be wrong but they seem to do this to plaster over the Local commercials.

  3. For me, it makes sense that 6 made their temp set in the Inside Story studio, taking some of the elements from the old set with them. If I remember correctly, this new building that they have been in since 2009, was supposed to be more spacious. So if the Inside Story studio is where they can camp out for a little bit, why not? Plus, the framework of the outgoing set has been there from the start of their time in the new building back in 2009, with tweaks and refreshes since then. Agreed. KYW's set felt more like a refresh than a new set, and it's just bleh. The WTXF set that came out in August feels stale. If WCAU wasn't working with such a small space, their window-style studio could have been so much better. Keith Jones took a 360 shot of the set recently on his social media account (can't remember if it was FB or Instagram) and it's clear of the limited space that they are working with. Since we're talking about the temp WPVI set, I guess I'll share a few things about their sets that I have loved over the years: -Everything about the late 90s, early 2000s set, because of its simplicity and elegance. -The glass etched Action News logo that they use to zoom out from going into and out of break.

  4. Is CLTV even a useful channel these days? WGN airs so much news every day now.

  5. Byron said goodbye at the end of the 11am news today. Apparently he decided to depart a few days ahead of the planned June 9th last day. I'm upset that I didn't record it.

  6. Chuck Bell, Sheena Parveen, Doug Kammerer, Amelia Draper, Lauryn Ricketts, and a new lady named Somara Theodore. So right now, if you include Tom, they have 7 meteorologists, compared to WJLA's team of 8, WTTG's team of 6, and WUSA's team of 4

  8. WCAU is likely sending someone to help out until Rafael returns from his paternity leave. I've also seen Chris doing Saturday night forecasting a couple weekends ago Dave Price doing weekend mornings etc.

  9. Maybe this is speculation or not..but something to keep an eye on..The Al Jazeera network might be forced to shut down due to the diplomatic crisis currently going on here in Qatar as a concession. http://money.cnn.com/2017/06/05/media/al-jazeera-qatar-saudi/index.html

  10. Don't quote me on this but I think certain elements may have been syndicated. Is this what you mean by the ring open? Also, it's worth checking out this website Television by Design. They made the Hearst package along with many others during the 90s and early 2000s.
