Fox's is brighter and cleaner, but I give 7 a handicap for doing all they did in that tight space. To me, the two stations are 1A and 1B. Very well done by WFLD.

Completely agree! I'm just waiting for somebody to go flying backwards off of that one person, piece of plastic desk... the 2009 set can come back now.

What average viewer is going to notice this? I mean it's not ugly but it's just not exciting. At all. It's a news set, that's about it. A 1995 news set. And that desk may not technically be a two-seater, but it's as close as you can get to one - you can see the weather & sports guys' chairs and lower bodies for Pete's sake. I was watching at 5 to see if it might debut and all I can say is major yawn as far as I'm concerned. Other than that, nice! LOL

A major renovation occured today on Canal 13's news image. They launched new graphics and music for the morning, midday and late newscasts, and also premiered a giant newsroom. It's very big and modern, but the Brazilian ones that belong to Rede Globo and Rede Record are much bigger. Despite that, here are some excerpts:

The area to the right looks identical to WLS' weather center.

No "Weather Center" - I wonder if the weather office is staying in the newsroom closet.

Then again, since WGME is one of Sinclair's more rebellious stations, if they are forced to divest that may be one of the first to go anyway.

Dish Network & Hearst reached a retrans deal tonight. I'm sure that Sweeps & postseason play (NBA/NHL) wasn't the factor in getting the deal done.

Don't forget about all of these renderings of potential logos for WGN America, which were posted by the artist who they approached for a new logo design in 2013 (and for the record, I'm glad they decided against calling the station "GNA"). Personally, this one is my favorite out of the bunch. It resembles the "Code Pro" font and I think it'd suit the 80s-style "9" well.

Just you wait until their big Sheetz expose in the coming weeks...

Longtime WBAY meteorologist George Graphos is retiring. Maybe it's the conspiracy theorist part of me, but I've had the feeling for a few years that this would happen sooner than later. Kind of predicting that Brad Spakowitz (who's been at WBAY for almost as long) will be promoted to chief....

The logical path for "AM Bflo" has to be 12:30pm. I'm wondering if the Saturday morning edition is temporary so as to honor some existing sponsor contracts.

If this merger is official, I am going to be really mad. Nexstar really wants to monopolize the tv market.
