  1. Or they could rebrand like WGN and say "this is New York's very own...PIX11 News at 5" or something like that. I honestly feel like they need to get rid of that train opening anyways and move to a slightly more serious opening and graphics package. Something simple like they had back pre-2010 would be nice.

  2. Likely just a slogan, like the sister stations.

  3. And I think a hearty "Happy Trails" is in order for Maureen Bunyan. Meanwhile WTKR assistant news director Justin Joseph is leaving to return to Denver, joining an unnamed executive producer that has already gotten the boot. http://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/2/5/norfolk-deuce-is-out-after-less-than-a-year

  4. And Fox wonders why people don't take them seriously when they claim to be "Fair and Balanced"...

  6. WVUE has a new image campaign running just in time for February sweeps: Local First. They even modified their bug.

  7. MSNBC truly seems prepared to move forward with a good mix of news and opinion. The mix of Joe/Mika & Greta with Chris Matthews & Rachel, as well as Lawrence. The former road warriors in their new positions further enhance the news operation. I think we now see a truly "Fair & Balanced" cable news channel. Now, hopefully, the viewers will give MSNBC a chance and ratings will soar.

  8. What's the deal with the "distressed film" look in WNT promos? They used this effect when teasing their coverage of the serial killer case. Is this a "thing" now?

  9. Incredibly sad and hope he doesnt get worse. I didn't watch the interview but the article sums it up. He also has "dramatic mood swings, episodes of rage, depression, anxiety and memory loss". The NFL definitely has to do more to address concussions and help their players.

  10. With the major sale of MG and Nexstar finally closing, some of the divested stations have shown up. One of those was WSLS (Which personally got the best of the deal) being sold to Graham. Here is the piece they did about the closing of the sale to Graham:

  11. That's exactly what I was thinking they'd do- "New York's Very Own" is the slogan. I expect it'll be implemented around the station's community programs and events, things like that.

  12. Nexstar called. They want their terrible slogan back.

  13. I would think so too. At first glance, I thought the article makes it sound like the station is changing it's name to "New York's Very Own" instead of it's slogan. IMO, naming the station and it's news brand that would be stupid and/or a mouthful.

  16. I like the desk and the look A LOT! Haven't seen the show in so long. Have things changed from where they were last year? Is Michael still there as a 3rd co-anchor?

  17. KITV's sports director Robert Kekaula will switch over to anchoring news with Paula Akana (who anchors at 5pm) at 6 and 10pm starting February 13th while Brandi Higa takes his spot. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/honolulu-station-announces-evening-anchor-team/185268

  20. Has it passed anyone's mind that with the MG and WVMH deals closed or about to close that Perry Sook, the Cap Cities fanboy, has practically recreated Cap Cities minus Philly and Houston? The first Cap Cities TV station was WCDA, forerunner to today's WTEN. The second was the incumbent CBS station for the Triangle (WTVD for Cap Cities, WNCN for Nexstar) The third Cap Cities TV station was channel 12 in Providence (WPRO then/WPRI now) The fourth was a VHF in Buffalo (WKBW for Cap Cities, WIVB for Nexstar) The fifth was a VHF serving most of West Virginia (WSAZ for Cap Cities, WOWK for Nexstar) Later additions included WTNH and a station in Frenso (KFSN for Cap Cities, KSEE/KGPE for Nexstar) Finally, a UHF in Tampa to close it out (WFTS for Cap Cities, WTTA for Nexstar)
