I don't see the point of the 3 anchor format. Michael is not a broadcast journalist. He is a former football player who just happens to be good hosting talk shows and game shows. This morning, Robin barely said a word for 10 minutes during the 7am A Block. She had a few lines during the open, but, that was about it. If they wanted a 3rd anchor, I don't understand why they didn't promote Amy. She is 200x times better. GMA better be careful. One slip-up and it could be back to #2. Today is catching up after the Ann Curry saga of 2012.

If memory serves me correct Ion, Univision and Tribune were the only groups over the cap with the UHF Discount. They will be grandfathered at their current limit(s). Everyone else was/is under the cap (even without the UHF discount) although a few of them might be butting up to the cap now.

Those over the cap will be grand-fathered in. However, it's the prospects of acquiring new stations for those over the cap that will be hampered.

Quite frankly I'm finding it all hard to watch. Michael is just not good, where as Jesse Palmer was really good. Watching George, Robin and Michael open the show is painful, it's like as if they know this is just as bad as it looks on TV.

Looks like she's been hired full time to do weekend weather. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/erika-martin-joins-philadelphia-station/178727

That was rhetotical. I know why. Because in my opinion, right now, Michael is an okay co-host. He was a great co-host on Live, but he's only good in doses here. Just like Lara was. (And look how that turned ou with her). The fact that they're giving him more time on-screen and giving him equal billing when he doesn't deserve it (IMO) will end up exactly like Lara--not a success.

It would be nice if she could read a prompter.

Yeah, it wasn't ready yesterday. Funny thing is, the "relaunch" (without the new set), was really not much different than normal, except for Michael sitting at the desk. No significant format changes on what was supposed to be a new day.

FTVlive picked up on WEWS's identity crisis... It's been in the making ever since they ditched the "NewsChannel" from their bug and started referring to themselves as "Channel 5" in non-news time periods. However, I think they will fare much better than Raycom has done with "Cleveland 19". I wish they would have NEVER ditched the original "Circle 5". The 1998 "NewsChannel" version was tolerable, but the 2004 mess of a logo set WEWS into the tailspin it has become over the last decade. The relaunch in 2007 was never the same. And since then, even WPTV has thickened their logo, which plays off the original much better. Cleveland was such a late-comer to the website game, that NewsNet5 was the FIRST full-fledged, full-time website of a top-4 station in Cleveland. NewsChannel5.com had been snatched up by now-sister station WTVF long before Cleveland could get WEWS.com up and running.... (WJW was first with their part-time website in 1995 powered by ZDepth, followed by WBNX in 1996). It wasn't until 2000 that ALL of the Cleveland stations were online. WOIO and WUAB were the last and only because they sold their souls (and the rest of Raycom) to WorldNow.
