So basically, somewhere along the line, the folks in Jackson said...

Caught a little of WHLT this morning on the antenna. They've added the Nexstar ticker, and a WHLT 22 bug with a dark blue logo on a blue background....

Hopefully the logo is temporary since it's virtually invisible the way it is now...

If they must have a blue background, light blue is the way.

Caught a glimpse of the possible WHLT logo moving forward last night during election coverage.
They were using the default Nexstar "Your Local Election Headquarters" graphics and the WHLT logo was the black one shown above, minus the WKRG "circle" Underneath was the slogan "Focused On You".

Why WJTV's version went to left field is beyond me, especially since WHLT is now just a WJTV pass-through with local ads....

This was added to their Facebook page on Monday The ‘12’ reminds me of the mid 90’s logo D9ED99BE-5314-4AE8-A8DF-A19BD0936887.png

If that's their new logo, it's a vast improvement over the other logo that's been making it's rounds in the past month or two...

And will WHLT get a similar upgrade?

They must have 86ed the other logo at the last minute. Good call on their behalf.

On that logo, the 2 feels like it's floating in outer space.

There's too much of a gap space between the 1 and the 2 in that logo.

If the eye wasn't overlapping the 1 it'd probably look fine, otherwise yes, the kerning needs to be tighter by just a few pixels.

I see it now. Although 1's require a little bit of tweaking when it comes to kerning (requiring a little more on most fonts), so it may have been left at default.
Could have been a rush job since the other logo is gone....
