WBMA has the updated graphics
Given that this finally killed off the "Start Here"-era bubbles that were a relic of when WSET was using Third Coast, I'll tolerate this.
They automatically lose 15 points for changing the pitch of the theme.
Man, does WSET’s open look cheap.
And further back, IIRC, Rob Jennings was the main anchor/weatherman on the weekend editions of Action News on WPVI, and I even remember seeing a 1992 KITV Honolulu segment from YouTube where Dan Cooke was the weatherman as well as being one of the anchors.
Say what you will about Sinclair, but I've noticed that they've rolled out their graphics to their stations more efficiently than TEGNA has. Even their Texas cluster and WJLA had updates sooner than TEGNA's Texas cluster and WUSA (I've detailed that part more in the TEGNA's new graphics thread so see that for more info).
The Sinclair Flag Mandate got applied to KPTM as well, which otherwise uses the current Fox O&O graphics but with the Sinclair weather graphics.
Somehow, I think it actually makes it look better there. And trust me, putting a flag on it feels like something Fox would do to begin with if they ran their local operations with FNC's political positions.
KTVO in Kirksville, MO (Market #210) has finally gotten the Sinclair look with the conversion to the WSYX version of the Sinclair graphics. In addition, they have received a new set as well as a new logo.
Huh, they are using the "glass" variant of the graphics in the beginning but also using "curves" throughout the weather segment (watch at end). Weird.
Considering what they had, and the market size, this is very impressive.
Here's KTVO's opening from last night. I like the new logo, compared to the previous one.
Are there any other Sinclair stations that don't use the standard Sinclair graphics and theme music? Any chance of this happening with Tribune's stations once the merger is approved?
WKRC and KUTV have their own graphics.
WKRC uses the "Curves" music with their graphics.
WKEF/WRGT is right in WKRC/WSTR's background, so a unique look for WKRC is not that surprising.
Newer graphics coming to WBFF?
Hmm. I do certainly like the Orange.
KOMO is using the Mach 2 weather graphics, though it's still the original graphics elsewhere (with their enlarged bug that messes up the balance of things. Even KATU's version looks better).
KHGI have now updated their weather graphics. (Don't ask me why they are using 2 "First Alert Weather" logos)
