KTVU posted this on their facebook page saying it will debut on Saturday the 28th on the 10pm-er
Looks like they finally got a full new set as opposed to the tweaking they've done since like.. 1993? It reminds me of KPIX's old set. IMO a bit dark for modern times, but KTVU is the traditional newscast connoisseur. It also appears that they perhaps might get a tweaked version of their graphics package.

I wonder if the graphics will be like the ones we've seen in recent promos (with the CGI GG Bridge), or if it's something different. This looks like something different.

And thank god. I love KTVU's news content, but that animating bug and obnoxious L3s are so distracting.

One word to describe KTVU new news set... BEA-U-TI-FUL!
One question... Who design the new set?

Given the design cues, I would hazard a guess that it's Broadcast Design International that put it together.

It's BDI they recently updated KTXL's set in Sacrameno and this was their next stop.

Interesting -- it looks a lot like their current set -- just a touch bigger and more refined. No complaints, glad they kept the traditional wood.

Too bad they got rid of that monitor bank with the pole/cable things protruding out of it. I liked that. (Or did they get rid of it before this?)

I am watching the KTVU 10pm news live online and their new graphics are great. I am including a screenshot of their new lower third.

I wasn't able to record the entire 10:00pm show on my DVR last night, but here's the open. The set is nice, but the graphics are a bit of a "blah" update, if you ask me.

They didn't get rid of the @&$!ing animated bug...

Everything about this looks nice, but there's absolutely no creativity here.
