Does anybody know what happened to WNBC's Doppler 4000? I know that it's still mounted to the top of the GE Building, but I haven't seen them use it in years. Did they phase it out, or what? (And does anybody know where the other stations' radars are located?)

The station's current Doppler radar is at the Dowling School of Aviation in Brookhaven on Long Island. It is a doppler radar for the News 12 networks and for aviation.
The doppler 4000, the last time i checked, is still on top of the rock.

Seems like none of the NY stations use "their" own dopplers, CBS 2 stopped using theres a while ago. They only use Titan.

WNYW uses still their own radar "Sky Guardian".
