Watching the stream online, it's obvious that putting that blue glow behind the bug was a bad idea, particularly since the graphics go into Red Mode for breaking news...

I cannot stand the NBC Chicago, NBC Bay Area brandings. I don't know what NBC was thinking... They will always be NBC 5 to me and nbc5.com.

Well they are branded on tv nbc 5 news and the site is nbc chicago.. It really doesnt matter to me, i look at it as its just a number who cares.. But thats me and everyone can feel differently and are entitled to their own opinions .. Lol

After almost 2 months on the new set, they made the first adjustment. The monitor wall backdrop has switched from the still skyline image to using the live feed of the Michigan Ave camera. They must've seen how nice the live video looks with WNBC's set...it looks alot better.

Just watched my 4:30 p.m. dvr recording.. I like the live shot alot! The old graphic was cool too but i really like this one!

They changed it up at 6 to a view looking north on Michigan...didn't look as good, it wasn't a convincing backdrop because it gave the illusion that the studio is right over the street. The 10 o'clock backdrop is the same still image that they've been using.

Looks like the weekend anchor shifts are getting switched up now.

Starting May 5th...

Anthony Ponce will be co-anchoring with Kim vatis Saturday and Sunday mornings.

Dick Johnson will anchor the 5pm and 10pm newscasts on both Saturday and Sundays now instead of just Sundays.

Lisa Parker will go back to full-time reporting duty and will fill in anchor where needed.

I wish they would go with a 2 person anchor team on the weekends. WMAQ hasn't had that since I believe Rob and Anna were together a few years back.
