Earlier this week, San Fransisco's KPIX debut a new set that appears to be designed by Jack Morton/PDG (A tipster in our forums says it was built by FX Group). The new set has a clean look with shades of blue and purple, silver, and white lightboxes. Three vertical, thin-bezel monitors make up the backdrop of the anchor area. What appears to be a "bar type" LCD display is embedded in the front of the desk.

Prior to the instalation of the new set, the station was on a temporary set composed of three panels featuring a panoramic view of their old set.

They're doing a nice job with being creative with the screen behind. Looks like a different look for each of the newscasts...like that they didn't go with the 'live view' the ABC stations use, which lacks the polish of good photography.

It's a breath of fresh air for them after 15 years using variations of that prior set.

I think the set looks really nice. I see bright colors and monitors. And they did a great job on the monitors. I think it's an awesome set. BTW, the temp set looked like it had 3 flat paper background walls that almost tricked me into thinking that was a set right there.

I was watching it in the days beforehand, and I had absolutely no idea that it was a fake temporary set. When I saw the new set on Friday, I was wondering how they possibly switched sets so quickly.

The new set is nice. My only complaint is that the blue wall pieces are much too bright for the CBS O&O graphics.

This may be described as being designed by FX Group, but I have to say Weeters' assessment of the set sure rings true for me! If this is truly FX, it's quite uncharacteristic of them!

There seems to be at least 2 sets. The one seen at the video at the top, and this larger set (http://www.facebook....&type=1)

That definitely looks more like a Jack Morton/PDG design (like WBBM or KYW). But what do I know...

Fx did the set but it was based off of the Jack Morton designed WBBM

Now that we see WCBS's set, it looks like Jack Morton designed this set also.

I don't think that it was. I think it's merely an FX set that was designed to rip off the Jack Morton sets at WBBM and KYW. For an FX set, it's beautiful, but it still has some really clumsy looking walls and FX's signature curved desk.
