A couple of stations under Nexstar lost their FOX affiliation in the past few weeks and now it appears it's continuing. WFFT in Fort Wayne is losing it's FOX Affiliation, and WISE-TV is picking it up and combining it with their My Network Affiliate.

Of course, some viewers are thinking that WFFT is actually moving over to Channel 33 which isn't true. However, I hope that Jim Blue's news operation which has been getting accolades for their work is not affected too much by this. That really stinks.

WFFT was independent for many, many years before Fox. My gut says they'll just go back to that. jim

And KSFX in Springfield, MO will be losing its FOX affiliation, too. KRBK (currently a MyNetwork TV affiliate) will be FOX's new affiliate.

I wouldn't call it that. This is not a wave of big market stations dropping a major network to go with Fox or vice versa.....these are just minor small market swaps in comparison.

WFXW in Terre Haute, IN is also losing Fox and will switch back to ABC (Currently served in Terre Haute by WRTV in Indianapolis)

No word on where Fox will go in Terre Haute or if it will be piped in from Indy.

Nexstar Broadcasting has now filed a civil antitrust lawsuit against Granite Broadcasting (which owns WISE-TV in Fort Wayne, which is also named in the suit, and manages sister station WPTA-TV with its owner Malara Broadcasting), claiming Granite is going to control local ad sales for five networks shared amongst two stations in Fort Wayne (primary NBC affiliate WISE is tacking on Fox programming to its MyNetworkTV-affiliated subchannel next Monday, August 1, while WPTA already carries ABC on its main channel and The CW on its second subchannel). It is seeking a judgement to have either WPTA's ABC affiliation, or WISE-TV's NBC or Fox affiliations stripped.

BTW, WFFT is going independent on Monday and it is kind of taking from WTVW's playbook as to what it will program in primetime once the Fox affiliation ends. Like WTVW, they will be airing newsmagazines during the 7 p.m. hour and "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit" at 8 (then in September, "The Big Bang Theory" will replace "SVU", exactly like on WTVW). WFFT will also run theme nights on weekends, with a "Saturday Crimetime" block (a la CBS's current Saturday night lineup) of crime dramas and a family movie night on Sunday nights (just like WTVW is doing). WFFT is also going to expand its 10 p.m. newscast to an hour on Monday, and on October 1, expand it to seven nights a week. The same night the 10 p.m. news expands to Saturdays and Sundays, it also plans to begin broadcasting it in HD.
